K9’S IN THE area are in for a treat at a charity dog walk this May thanks to dog Trainer Jo Lee of K9 Kapers. Jo, 57, from Hartlepool will be helping out at Hartlepool and District Hospice’s Dogs Day Out on Sunday May 23 to help raise funds for the charity. Jo has three dogs and is pictured with Peggy a collie cross spaniel who is seven years old.
Jo said “On the day Myself and Peggy will lead the sponsored dog walk around Summerhill and I have arranged a great agility course for the dogs to take part in. Also some of my class will be coming along to do an obedience display.”
Dog trainer and behavioural coach Jo runs weekly classes at Dalton Piercy which uses up to date modern methods for pack leadership. Jo added “I feel it’s important to support the Hospice for the care and support they give to terminally ill people and their families and the improved quality of live they give. Both of my parents have received exceptional care from the Hospice which is why I want to help in whatever way I can.”
The brand new event is a sponsored dog walk that will be raising funds for local charity Hartlepool and District Hospice. The day will begin with a sponsored walk around Summerhill, followed by a Doggy Buffet, a Dog Show and Agility Course. The event will being at 10:00am on Sunday 23 May at Summerhill visitors centre.
Organisers hope the event will raise over £3,000 towards the £2.5million needed in 2010 to maintain the specialist palliative care and bereavement support services offered by Hartlepool and District Hospice. All the funds raised from this event will go towards Hartlepool and District Hospice. The unique and vital care, comfort and support offered by the charity, based in Wells Avenue, Hartlepool, improves the lives of thousands of families from the Hartlepool and east Durham areas each year, that are affected by life limiting illness or the death of a loved one.
