October 2007
Make a Will month is an annual campaign that encourages people to get a will made or updated in return for a donation towards maintaining the care Hartlepool and District Hospice offers to people affected by life limiting illness or the death of a loved one.
Making a will not only ensures loved ones are looked after when you are no longer around, but also provides a very easy way to avoid tricky inheritance tax law while helping a good cause at the same time.
Individuals can make a straightforward will for £80 for a single or £120 for a double. Solicitors are also on hand to discuss the tax benefits of remembering a charity, like our Hospice, when you are actually making a will.
Which solicitor do I choose?
Each year the law firms from around the Hartlepool and east Durham area take part in the campaign and donate their time and expertise free of charge.
Last year we received support from Tilly Bailey and Irvine, Donnelly Adamson, R.Bell and Son and Malcolm Smith and Partners and we would like to thank them for making sure the campaign continues to be a success.
Details of solicitors participating in our 2007 Make a Will Month will be posted on the website as soon as they are confirmed.
