For over 25 years Hartlepool and District Hospice has been improving the lives of people living with life limiting illnesses, whilst supporting their families and carers. Recently we have also begun offering a specialist bereavement support service for the whole community. As the only adult Hospice in the Hartlepool and east Durham area of the UK, we provide a vital range of specialist services that help thousands of families each year.
How much does it cost to provide our services
It currently costs the Hospice £2.4million a year to maintain these services and only 20 per cent of these costs are met by the Government. This means that we must raise around £6500 a day through voluntary income to make sure the people who use our services receive the right care, when and where they need it.
However this is only the beginning of our challenge
Every day more and more individuals are using our services; especially younger people, patients with increasingly complex symptoms and individuals with diseases other than cancer. And we know the only way we can give them the care they require is to continue to push our excellent standards even higher and continue to expand the range of services we offer- which all costs more.
We need your help
There are a number of rewarding and funs ways you can help us step up to this challenge:
In return for your support, we promise every pound we receive will be used wisely and cost effectively and will make a real difference to the life of someone in your community today.
