Transporter Bridge Walk

Take part an exhilarating and daring sponsored challenge to walk across one of the North East's most famous landmarks. Built in 1911, the incredible Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge spans the Tees and serves as a towering reminder of the area 's industrial heritage. Its majestic frame is the second tallest example of its kind in the World and has starred Billy Elliott, Auf Wiedersehen Pet and the Fast Show. As part of this daring challenge you will walk the 180 meter distance between the two towers at the height of 49 meters above the road. If you've got a head for heights then this could be the event for you.
40 places are on offer for supporters to take part in this new event for 2009.
There is no registration fee but participants are required to raise a minimum sponsorship of £50.
Participants must over 10 years old.
